Please note: 

- the two videos in this section (Shipped Games) are walkthrough videos, made by players, that I've embedded from YouTube. I worked on both projects as a sound designer and music composer for Neon Play, part freelance and part in-house. I didn't implement the audio directly into either game as that was done by the programmer/technical audio designer. I do not unfortunately have access to videos of gameplay without music.

Neon Play - Escape Hunt

Neon Play - Traffic Panic: Boom Town 

Brief:

- A city building format similar to Sim City. Build a functioning town from the ground up and gain coin and XP using mini-games. 3rd person view. Audio needs to create an easy-going and calm atmosphere, without risk of becoming annoying or fatiguing due to the repetitive nature of the tasks and actions. (Note: as explained below, many of the sounds in the game were not chosen or implemented by myself and there are moments where these audio choices made by the studio are invasive or jarring)

Additional Notes:

  • Only some of the ambient sound design was created by myself, the UI and transitional sounds were taken from libraries by the technical audio designer and implemented without my knowledge. This is why some of the sound design - at times - can be quite jarring.

  • Any assets which were sourced from existing libraries/material were modified in some way by myself. At the very least an asset required fixing through mixing techniques or changing in length. Sometimes significant changes were made to meet my artistic vision and achieve the brief

Brief:

- Indiana Jones style adventure game progressing through a narrative using puzzles and other challenges. 1st person view. Audio needs to create an atmosphere of mystery and discovery.
